We are excited to present to you, the new Africa Must Change platform. Our initial vision was to form a truly African environment that would resemble ‘Hyde Park’. Africans need enough space to clearly and unequivocally spit out the suppressed and repressed inner sentiments. There is no media that has conveniently given them that space neither in Africa due to the reign of repressive regimes nor in the West due to their scheming and colonial versions of what they want to say about Africa. We have finally arrived at a veritable platform where each African can freely and without constraints express themselves. This is otherwise called the ‘Hyde Park’ of Africa, a truly free townhall where every African and friends of Africa, irrespective of who they are, can begin to ask the necessary questions, share the worries and woes, joys, and experience and in fact every aspect of life without fear of being bullied at or again being repressed.
Using the best Q&A Model in the World
We have reached a good number of more than 4000 registered users, we are finally transitioning from being a mere blog to a Q&A townhall using the exact format of the world’s best discussion platforms – Quora. Let us explain some key features of the platform. With the departure of Yahoo! Question and Answer Community, we have only one such model in the world to compare with, which is Quora. Therefore, this platform will, hopefully, become the true and veritable voice of Africa, the undiluted expression of all that is welling up in each one of us that is in search for answers.
Questions And Answers
The greatest way to ignite the liberation of Africans who have been silenced and suffocated for decades without any space for expression is to provide them with free talking space. An African adage goes thus, ‘a problem shared, is a problem half solved’. Africa has a myriad of unanswered questions. On this platform, we are going to ask those questions in the hope of getting the right answers from the right people. This platform is the highest thing that has recently happened to concerned Africans in a bid to promote true freedom of speech, expression of our innermost desires to get the continent out of this present quack mire and to set it safely on the path to true development.
Limitation of Social Media Platforms
The limitations, censorship, and bullying brought about by social media avenues as we can clearly see that these have not genuinely satisfied the aspirations and the yearnings of Africans to freely express themselves with regards to their woes and calamities, business, education in fact every ambient of life in Africa. These social media avenues have been the personal property of those who pull the strings in favour of the ruling class or should I call them Western bullies and so have ended up frustrating and suffocating the spirit of true and limitless expression. By the way they were not meant for what we are about to do now.
Africa! Liberate your spirit and Feel free to Talk
And to every son and daughter of Africa, the ball is in your court. You are free on this platform as on Hyde Park in London, to begin talking and asking the necessary questions that will lead to true and genuine liberation of Africa, development, and advancement of Africa.
Therefore, we are encouraged to begin forming free and functional online communities and groups, create potent challenges, ask daring questions without fear, take our leaders to task without fear, and contribute fearlessly to the much-needed growth of Africa.
This is not just a social tool, it is primarily an educational tool where educational institutions can make good use of it, teachers, musicians, artists, university institutions, churches, or religious systems, business systems, cultural systems, etc. without limit, can form truly educational communities and groups, deliver lectures and presentations, organisations can use it to promote their developmental agendas, political expressions, etc. without limits, without restraints, without suffocation, without bullying, without repression and without suppression.
Polls, Question Communities & Groups
One of the most potent aspects of the platform that needs mentioning at the beginning is its capability to handle polls of every kind. Feel free to carry out polls on popular questions and preoccupations about everything in Africa be they political questions, economic, social, organizational, societal etc. without limits. We already have a cross section of Question communities or Categories, but we do not want to claim that they are exhaustive and that is why we have given you the opportunity to add more communities only if you do not find them in the list of already existing communities. Feel free to form your groups just in the same manner as you do with other social media channels and link of with other channels as you deem necessary.
The Points, Badges And their Use
Very interesting is also the points format that can fetch your money if well utilized. You will be making more points if you register, ask questions, answer questions, and do various things around the platform and when the time comes, those points will be converted into money. The only way you can make a name as a reputable educator, solution provider, teacher or expert is by increasing your badges and points and you never know who will be contacting you anywhere in the world with offers because of your contributions on the platform.
On your marks, picture yourself in Hyde Park, prepare your courteous questions, set up your presentations and set the ball rolling.
