I’m an American citizen too my fellow Americans. The reason I come to you at this moment with this letter of appeal for help is because the killing and burning of human bodies and the allegations about the possible use of prohibited chemicals to kill people in the North West, amongst numerous other atrocities committed in the war highlight the importance for America to intervene and end the ongoing genocide and arms conflict ravaging the people of Southern Cameroons.
The reaction of the West since the beginning of this conflict begs for the question do animal lives matter more than human lives in the eyes of the Western world?
When the Zimbabwean popular Lion – Cecil was tracked and killed by Walter Palmer, (an American dentist and recreational big game hunter), Mr. Palmer had a hunting permit and was not charged with any crime.
Though not charged, the killing of the lion resulted in international media attention, caused outrage among animal conservationists, criticism by politicians and celebrities and a strong negative response against Mr. Palmer as per Wikipedia).
With the ongoing extra-judicial killings, burning of homes and villages, killing and burning people, everyone started asking the question; where is the outrage of the world, where is the criticism by world leaders and where is the negative response to these criminal acts from important sports men and women? Are they waiting for another Rwanda to happen before the step in to help?
Five months after the killing of Lion Cecil, the US Fish & Wildlife Service added lions in India, and the Lione of West and Central Africa to the endangered species list. What is America therefore, waiting to also afford protection to the oppressed people of Southern Cameroons against their oppressors?
The protection afforded lions, makes it more difficult for United States citizens to legally kill lions. This move changed the world order for animal protection, most especially Lions, affording them additional life and protection so they are not wiped out by their killers in India and Africa.
It is the same kind of protection afforded animals in the jungle of Africa that we also appeal for the American people and the Trump administration to afford for the people of Southern Cameroons before more people are killed.
As a matter of moral responsibility, America – the Champion of human rights in the whole universe must take the lead in protecting the lives of Sourhern Cameroonians.
The fact that America consistently grants political asylum to people from Southern Cameroons expression facing political persecution by the Government of Cameroon is eloquent testimony that America is undoubtedly aware of danger surrounding the lives of the people of Southern Cameroonians in the hands of the CPDM regime.
During extraordinary moments like this one begging extraordinary action, America must rise up to the occasion to take extraordinary action that goes beyond known political and diplomatic ties with either the Republic of Cameroun or France.
The people of Southern Cameroons have no one else to turn to but America because France, Russia, Britain, China and the United Nations, all have personal or oil ties with the government of Cameroon which makes it difficult for any of these supper powers to take appropriate actions that will end this conflict.
America has the powers under American law, to intervene unilaterally for purely humanitarian reasons to mediate between the two sides.
All lives matter and animal lives don’t matter more than human lives. This call is therefore, intended for peace, security and protection of everyone in Cameroon facing possible elimination most especially children, women and the youth as a result of the ongoing war.
AMERICA, DO NOT WASH YOUR HANDS LIKE PONTIUS PILATE. THIS IS MY APPEAL TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
