Prime minister Dion Ngute and a medium sized delegation from Yaounde along with no-function and ‘budget-less’ regional assembly Presidents of North West and South West regions are in DOUALA to discuss with business leaders about the way forward for the crisis
The movers and shakers of Cameroon’s struggling economy say they are willing to pump money in government’s reconstruction Efforts in the turbulent regions as well as revamp dying business which cost the economy about 1000 billion from 2017-2019 alone- its much worse now and government about 80 billion francs CFA in taxes
Fresh from grumbling about their idleness at the level of regional councils, the Presidents who were elected in part to help end the crisis addressed business leaders even as they are fully aware of what they will be doing in future as Yaounde continues to seat on their political ambitions and perhaps most importantly budget
Reconstruction boss Paul Tasong was also handy at the dialogue table in DOUALA to explain the reconstruction roadmap which will take 10 years and probably within the same context of the crisis as there are no signs of things slowing down
The burnings, the killings, kidnappings and explosions are still very much rampant as it has always been.
DOUALA’s minor national dialogue is certainly heading the same path of its elder brother, major national dialogue held in Yaounde few years back.
